Bananas are in fact a vegetable

As defined by the International Organization for Defining Fruits and Vegetables, bananas are a fruit. This comes down after the close of the last meeting of the general counsel in a vote of 28-26. The voting was close as many still believe that bananas are sweet and delicious. In the majority opinion, Dr. Angelo Marcus writes that bananas are "gross and sometimes flavorless and thus should be considered a veg." The dissent was written by Rachel Kahn, a scientist at the FDA. "Bananas have seeds, one of the main characteristics of a fruit. Dr. Marcus and his followers are being paid by the Apple Council to deride bananas in favor of promoting apples. This is a travesty."
